I watched all the older films when I was like 10, (we had this cool VHS box set that made a picture of the Enterprise when the boxes were all lined up) so of course I got attached to the goofy one. Because of that it’s stayed my favourite to this day.
(Funnily enough my next favourite is First Contact which in comparison is hella creepy)
I mostly found the character interactions a lot more entertaining, and despite the plot being so ridiculous, or perhaps because of it, everyone just seemed to be having a good time.
I have not gotten to First Contact, as I’m attempting to watch things in order and am still wading through Next Gen/DS9, but I’ve heard conflicting things. Better things than the fifth one though. That one just felt… odd to watch. Nobody was quite in character and I can’t say I even remember the plot.
Oh god the fifth movie is the absolute WORST in my opinion. (Followed by Insurrection but more because that one is so boring)
To be honest I’ve always been more into the movies than the show. I watched all of next gen but have only seen bits and pieces of the other series. Next gen will always be my favourite though simply because it was what I saw first. When I was 6. And “the reading rainbow guy was in space with a robot friend” in my own six year old words.

So in order to impress me there needs to be at least 200% more whales in these Star Trek movies and 400% more Time Travel.
I already put a tiny 140 character review of this movie on the Twitter, but I wanted to put some more of my thoughts down onto paper. This overview/review/discussion will contain spoilers so if you want a quick sentence endorsement.
It was a fun movie with lots of flaws but if you liked the first Reboot movie than you’ll like this.

i still can’t believe glassesworth is canon… my dreams..
she was a girl
he was a boy
can i make it any more convoluted and unnecessarily complicated
❀ Thus, in the Ouran Host Club, handsome boys who have too much time on their hands flourish by entertaining equally idle girls. ❀
those are my ghosts, my past. every good day, every bad day.
